Modern requirements meets traditional design – A Bespoke Windows project on Copleston Road, Peckham Rye, SE15

This is one of many projects we’ve completed on the beautiful Copleston Road - a popular residential street in Peckham Rye lined with Victorian-era terraced houses.

The customer approached Bespoke Windows after becoming tired of living with their rotting single glazed sash windows. The common issues of excess condensation, heat loss, rattling and issues opening and closing made living comfortably in their own home difficult.

The streaming condensation was a big problem with the old windows, which became a thing of the past by installing our A+ heat reflective, argon gas filled double glazed units in the new windows.

After an initial design consultation, the customer was taken through their options and left with a transparent, upfront quote.

Keen to go ahead, the customer proceeded and appointed Bespoke Windows for the job. Within three days, our surveyor Callum visited the property to measure the bay sash window frames, including two additional casement windows in the kitchen and bathroom.

We were told that the customer wanted to have half height “cafe style” shutters fitted after the new windows were fitted, for the windows to look as much like traditional wooden sash windows as possible but be very low maintenance.

There was clearly a case for suggesting our Heritage PVC sash windows incorporating a full wooden trim set to include staff beading internally. This way the only painting ever required would be internally, at the same time as other internal decorating.

When this was explained and the customer saw the various options for internal trim finishes in our showroom this is exactly what they chose. Once the job was finished, they then later graced us with a glowing google review about the service and product.
