Transforming the facade of a Ruskin Park home – A Bespoke Windows project on Ferndene Road, Herne Hill

This customer came to Bespoke Windows saying that the whole front elevation of their house was looking a bit sad and needed a facelift.

The bay windows needed structural support in the form of solid metal components especially designed to fit neatly where the windows join each other.

They are then packed above and below, with heavy metal plates, to safely spread the weight of the structure above, before arrow props are carefully removed.

Upon closer inspection it became clear that scaffolding was required to complete the intricate external detailing to the outside of the bay windows.

Multiple layers of different PVC profiles were mitred around the tops of the bay windows to replace the rotten wooden architraves externally to avoid the need for future painting whilst giving an appropriately traditional finish.

A similarly traditional finish was produced inside the house but using traditional wooden painted trims.

The old porch was removed and a new porch wall built with reclaimed bricks to match those on the rest of the house. Then a new PVC porch was fitted with clean lines for a fresh look.

Another happy customer.

During pictured above: Installation of the heavy metal plates to support the structure, with careful removal of arrow props.

After pictured above: A complete transformation of the properties front elevation, now with energy efficient, low maintenance and secure double glazed windows. Plus, a traditional wooden finish around the internal painted trims.
